The Administrative Offices are responsible for overseeing the various aspects of LICR. The Offices function to facilitate and assist the research activities of LICR, and further the Institute's goals.

The Office of Budget and Finance is responsible for the management of the Institute's operating budget, maintenance of the Institute's financial and statutory records, reporting on the Institute's financial position and carrying out treasury operations. In addition, the Office provides the internal audit function and services to the Board of Directors and its various committees.

Office of Clinical Trials Management

This Office manages the operations of the Clinical Trials Program, which include obtaining ethical and regulatory approvals, production of regulatory-standard therapies, data recording, storage, and analyses, and management of material and staffing resources. The objectives, priorities, and research collaborations for the Clinical Trials Program are set by the Clinical Investigation Committee of the Office.

This Office is responsible for the articulation and dissemination of the Institute's principles and achievements. Internal communication is essential to ensure that our widely-disbursed staff is kept informed of scientific discoveries, and administrative and other issues crucial to their work. Additionally, external communications - informing the public and other scientists about the Institute's findings, interests, and goals - furthers our mission.

Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing

This Office administers the intellectual property of the Institute. Its responsibilities include reviewing the Institute's scientific output to identify meaningful discoveries, and effecting and overseeing the filing, prosecution, and maintenance of the LICR's patents. The formation of collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies is critical for moving LICR's preclinical and clinical programs towards eventual product approval and, ultimately, patient benefit. This Office, working closely with the other Offices of the Institute, plays a key role in the formation of such alliances.
